As Kasbah Tamadot was invaded by the next generation of astronauts, destined to fly with Virgin Galactic, we decided to undertake a venture a little closer to home, in what turned out to be a little more than we bargained for…
26 cyclists from the Virgin Galactic group, who stayed with us in June, took part in a 50 Km off road adventure, taking us from high up in the Atlas Mountains, through Berber Villages, across a stunning mountain pass and right down to the remote village of Imsker, home of Eve Branson’s’ latest project.
The Eve Branson Foundation is planning to replicate what we currently have in Tangshart (the village opposite Kasbah Tamadot), by building a new Craft House and Learning Centre to try to encourage local development and give people in the village an opportunity to learn new skills and eventually a new way to create an income. Hey everyone,
So firstly HUGE apologies for the delay in getting an updated blog onto our page, hope you have not been too lost without us!! Thing is…Kasbah has been SOOOO busy over the last few months none of us have had a moment spare to sit down and get the blog done. Between having exclusive use stays, small group party celebrations, children’s weeks, honeymoons, anniversaries and even a cheeky little visit from Richard Branson and some of the Galactic crew…we have been non-stop. Not that we are complaining! It has been fantastic and I must say, Kasbah Tamadot is looking really beautiful at the moment. The gardens are full of stunning blossoms, the trees full of delicious fruits (which are perfect for a wee afternoon snack break from the office) and we even think that our little Donkey, Peaches, may be pregnant! Salam alekum!
So I have to just jump right in and say it…how beautiful is this picture?? Admittedly I am the one who took it…but I have no skills as a photographer at all and my camera was purchased cheaply on e-bay. So I am delighted to say…no camera tricks or professional lighting etc…no photoshop…just a beautiful ’au natural’ setting… Read a bit more and I shall walk you inside one of them….this is certainly not your typical camping trip!
Hello everyone! Happy 2010! Can’t believe that Christmas and New Year are already over and we are in January 2010! Where does time go?
We had a very exciting Christmas & New Year season here at the Kasbah with a lovely group of guests in over our 5-7 night packages!
So… 5 weeks to go!! Christmas again! Ahhhh… so much to do, so little time… Got to start digging out the Christmas decorations, buy your presents…. o many questions… what did little Johnny ask for from Santa?? What do you buy for Great Aunt Ethel (who’s gift to you, normally includes finding her false teeth stashed on your bathroom sink every year?)… Who is cooking the dinner this year? Where is the best place buy the Turkey? What did you do with that stash of ½ price Christmas cards you bought in last years sales?? Yep, so many things to think about… the lead up to Christmas can be an exhausting time!!! All this got me thinking about how you tend to let your ‘own time’ somehow take a back seat while you are busily preparing for everything/everyone else. Read More
